five (on) FRIDAY faves

                        Happy Friday, friends!

Goodness – each time I sit down to write a blog post, life gets in the way. Most of the time for good reasons. This week I finally did something good and positive – I started jogging while on my daily pup walks after work. But its FRIDAY & I knew that I needed to write out some faves of my week to share with y’all J

This week at the University I work with was SPRING BREAK!
SUPER nice to not have to wrestle students for parking spots. They’re not technically supposed to be parking in the staff lots but they do & when you’re running late – it just makes those 50 circles around the lot even more frustrating. This week they treated us staff to some of my absolute favorite things: Tijuana Flats, bowling, 4Rivers and yesterday – Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. Made my day.

This weekend & well tonight – I am going to Epcot for a few rides & fireworks. I’m excited to be back – I get to go so much I feel I’ve taken up residence!

From the Flower & Garden festival - Epcot//April 2014

This weekend while I’m at my second home – I am finally getting a new accessory – Minnie Mouse ears @ 20% off. Thank you purchase from Starbucks at Disney for giving me this opportunity!

Been eyeing this for months!

Last Friday night - I went grocery shopping before Easter & did all my grocery shopping at Target after work. Combined with Cartwheel deals, big ol' stack of coupons and my red card - I saved so much - I was proud.
Lastly, while shopping – I finally tried out these new delish treats – Birthday Cake M&M’s. Oh my goodness, they have replaced my old fave peanut butter M&M’s. If you ever want chocolate cake and want lower calories, ladies – grab a bag, you won’t be sorry!

Hope you have a truly FANTASTIC weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I will get rested up this weekend so I can get back to posting more than once a week! ~ J

keepin' up with the robinson's

Happy Wednesday, friends! :)

Here's some Bob's Burgers gifs for you to enjoy!

Florida lately has been gross in terms of rainy, windy weather. I kind of love it but not during the work day as it makes me really tired and harder to stay awake.

Wanted to update my life lately because I've just been busy working out and sleeping so blogging just temporarily got moved to the back burner.

1) Ever since my surgery - been working hard on my book. Newfound motivation and creativity flowing that comes out of nowhere - I am determined to self publish through Amazon. I am blessed with some great friends who are interested in collaborating with me to share their stories & experiences for my future readers. I am really excited for the opportunity to bless the lives of other teenage/college aged & any other ladies who read my e-book. Hooray!

2) This past weekend, hubs & I sweated it out walking the World Showcase at Epcot which is our absolute favorite Disney Park, followed by Magic Kingdom. We also found ourselves at the Flower & Garden festival, where Disney characters were popping up everywhere pruned out of grass. Pretty artistic.

3) I am pretty excited about this weekend for a myriad of reasons. First, my mom & I are doing a Women of Faith event with Lisa Harper speaking at one of the Real Life church branches Friday eve/Sat afternoon. Saturday night, we're headed to Magic Kingdom. :)

4) When we bought our house, our master bathroom sink never worked. Our house is a fixer upper and finally after 2 1/2 years, my hubs figured out why. Last night we headed to Lowe's, thanks to giftcards from my parents we bought our new faucet which works amazingly.

5) I'm back to counting cals with my MyFitnessPal app on my phone & addicted to Zumba - 5-6 times a week and soon starting to train for my 10K in December to run it like Forrest Gump. Goal is to lose 5 pounds by May 1st, hopefully more!

6) Our neighborhood isn't the friendliest group of people but while we were walking our dogs on Sunday night - a neighbor not only waved, he said hi. Maybe I am being dramatic - but I wanted to hug him.

7) My dad & I were originally going to have a date last weekend but timing wasn't on our side. We're having a date this Sunday afternoon, with help from my entertainment book - Mini Golf & Froyo.

This week is really turning out to be something special. Hooray. ~ J

Thank God it's Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Hopefully your week//start of the new month has been kicked off with a bang. It's been quite a day, and so far quite a week - kind of sore but that would be due to intermediate Zumba. I am back to being addicted. I go to work only to get excited to come home for another 40 min of it. I just love it. Not sure about you but its the middle of the week and I could enjoy a good laugh.

Honestly, both of these describe me today. Although ironically, I was waist deep in my work mostly all day, taking a short break to work on my book.

I've been really blessed to have some motivation for my book. Feels like everyday, I have new ideas to incorporate into it. I am really excited for the opportunity to publish my book hopefully by the end of this year. There is so much more work to be done but it's all coming along perfectly.

I've also been inspired to start cooking. Pretty sure I have changed my mind at least eleven times on what to make for my Easter contribution for dessert. I've seen some great ideas on Pinterest but everything I've ever made from there turns out horribly.

But you know what - the best way to vent is a mini version of So What Wednesday.

This week I am saying SO WHAT if..

1) I like to blast my Zumba on the Wii. It's the best part of my day.

2) I spend my lunch hour writing my book. I furiously write down ideas all day, and this is the one time during the day I allow myself to work on my passion. I am really excited to publish, and the opportunity to inspire/encourage other young ladies through my faith & experiences.

3) I get excited about the coupons I am using this weekend at Tarjay & Wal-Mart. I just love saving money.

4) I don't really watch SNL live anymore but this week is a bonus of Anna Kendrick from Pitch Perfect and the musical guest: Pharrell. Guess its pretty good I can't get "Happy" out of my head.

5) Honestly, I wish that my neighbors had the personalities of Schmidt, Winston, Nick & Jess from New Girl. Because sometimes I get the vibe I am getting the attitudes of Frank Underwood from House of Cards and the immaturity of Jersey Shore all in one.

Have a great rest of your week. ~ J

my next great adventure.

Happy April 1st, friends :)

I have had six new chapter inspirations these past 6 weeks for my book which has been great because for months before that, I had some cray intense writer's block. My latest and greatest one is living a life of adventure. Basically, I'd really like to meet some ladies who've either taken a huge leap of faith, or risk (however you'd like to word it) to include in my book. I have a few individuals but I'd also like to get some fresh perspective.

If you could encourage teen girls/ladies your age to live adventurously -  how would you advise them?
Like would you encourage them to take up culinary school if they've loved to bake since their Easy Bake Oven days. Or move to LA and pursue acting (like how Emma Stone did it and prevailed?)

Essentially what is living a great adventure mean to you?
Or what has been your greatest adventures thus far?

Basically, my book is meant to inspire and encourage teen girls//young ladies. I've had my share of experiences, both good and bad that I feel could encourage and inspire ladies of all ages. My goal is to share my past experiences in the hope that I can prevent some of the bad that I went through. It's coming along quite nicely and I love the motivation that just hits me, whether I am at work or getting my Zumba on (both have happened lately).

Feel free to email me directly at jessica_whitney@hotmail.com or comment. I'd love to be able to incorporate your stories into my book and have the opportunity to befriend some new bloggers.

Thank you in advance! ~ J

Ps. I am already excited for Disney this Saturday
& having a date w. my dad on Sunday afternoon.
